Rita M. Lauer
Ms. Lauer is the Senior Associate with Winegarden, Haley, Lindholm & Robertson, P.L.C. and primarily handles business and employment related litigation. Her employment practice includes matters such as claims of discrimination, FMLA violations, MESC issues, and harassment litigation. Her business caseload also involves claims of shareholder oppression, contract disputes between businesses, and the defense of consumer protection claims. Ms. Lauer frequently appears both in federal and state courts.
Ms. Lauer graduated from Central Michigan University in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science degree. She worked the following year as an Aide to Senator Carl Levin and, then attended Syracuse Law School in 1991. At Syracuse, Ms. Lauer was a member of the Judicial Review Board and worked at the New York State Attorney General’s Litigation Department for two years.
Over the past 10 years, Ms. Lauer has served as a Member of the Fenton Township Board of Review. She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan’s litigation section, the Genesee County Bar Association and the State Bar of Michigan.
